What It's REALLY Like to Run a Business When You Have a Chronic Illness

A few quick things before we dive into the meat of this week’s episode. First, I want to share my motivation for creating this episode, and then I’ll give you a sneak peek into what we’ll cover when you tune in.
Why I created this episode
There are three main reasons I wanted to share my story in this episode…
In the hopes that someone out there needs to hear my story and my experiences so they feel less alone.
So that my entire health story and journey is documented in one place and I can easily refer people back to it.
To share tips, strategies, and lessons I’ve learned about running a business when you struggle with chronic illness. These tips apply to just about any situation where you can’t devote 40 hours/week to your business, whether it’s health-related or something else!
NOT why I created this episode
With all of that said, I didn’t create this episode…
For pity, sympathy, etc. I appreciate it, but I’m all good! :)
To get unsolicited health advice (please don’t ever do this! I think it’s so obnoxious for people on the internet to assume they know you and your health situation better than you do, better than your doctors do, etc.)
What we’ll cover in the episode:
My entire health story, from when I was a kid up to now (plus why I didn’t open up about this stuff sooner!)
My biggest challenges balancing chronic health issues and running/growing an online business.
What a typical day in my life looks like right now.
My tips, strategies, and lessons learned for others going through something similar.
To be honest, I was scared to record this episode. I was nervous and sweating the entire time I outlined it… but at the same time, I knew that it needed to be created.
The idea was sparked after I shared an Instagram post last week that seemed to resonate with a lot of people. In the post, I opened up about how chronic illness impacts my business and how it informs a lot of my mission with The Content Boss.
I got a TON of really awesome comments and messages from that post, basically letting me know I wasn’t alone and that people appreciated me sharing my story. So today, I’m gonna be brave and super honest, and open up about everything.
